Inside OPÉRA

For the first time ever, the Palais Garnier is hosting a unique concept never before offered to the public. In partnership with Team Break, one of the leading players in live escape games, RERE and Les Productions Adonis, one of the world’s most iconic buildings promises a unique and immersive experience: INSIDE OPÉRA, a truly life-sized adventure that blends an escape game with the immersive thrills of following in the footsteps of the Phantom of the Opera.

It’s a unique experience that everyone will enjoy, from history buffs to lovers of dance and music, puzzle fans and those looking to try something new – each and every visitor has a part to play in an immersive game held at this remarkable venue.

The aim of the game? To try to lift the curse of the Phantom of the Opera and finally set him free for good by solving a series of puzzles at the Palais Garnier, guided through the process by actors in period costume.
INSIDE OPÉRA offers people of all ages the chance to play individually or in teams, with family or with friends. To complete their mission, game participants are free to move around the iconic rooms of this historic monument: the Grand Escalier, the Avant-Foyer, the Grand Foyer, the Galerie du Glacier, the Salon du Glacier, and the Phantom of the Opera’s box (subject to the auditorium schedule).

About the Opéra national de Paris

The Opéra national de Paris strives to act as a showcase for opera and dance and to bring it to life both in France and worldwide, with four main goals: to create, share, enable access to, and ensure the long-term future of artistic works. Each year, the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille host a rich and varied programme, the result of concerted efforts to strike a balance between revisiting classics and showcasing new artistic creations. Last year, a total of 860,000 audience members attended over 420 performances.
During the day, the Opéra national de Paris also welcomes individuals and groups, with over 670,000 visitors to the Palais Garnier – one of Paris’s most iconic monuments, enjoyed by French citizens and international visitors to the city alike.
This new and immersive experience, INSIDE OPÉRA, offers visitors an opportunity to discover the secrets of Charles Garnier’s architectural masterpiece – opened in 1875 – in a new light.
Throughout the 2018/2019 season, and until 31 December 2019, the Opéra national de Paris will be celebrating its 350th anniversary: on 28 June 1669, King Louis XIV signed letters patent granting his advisor Pierre Perrin permission to establish a royal academy of opera, which would be named the Académie royale de Musique.

This anniversary is a unique opportunity for the Opéra national de Paris to pay tribute to its history.
